Job Posting: Garnet Removal Specialist Location: Exmore, VA
Full-Time Position Reports to: Water Jet Manager
Position Summary:
The Garnet Removal Specialist is responsible for safely and efficiently removing and disposing of
used garnet abrasive from waterjet cutting equipment. This role supports equipment performance,
workplace safety, and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain garnet removal and vacuum systems per manufacturer guidelines
Remove, collect, and dispose of used garnet in accordance with company and
environmental regulations
Clean and inspect waterjet tanks, trays, and filtration systems daily
Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance issues
Maintain clean and organized work and warehouse areas
Assist with warehouse duties, including loading/unloading, put-away, and picking
Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers
Follow all safety policies and wear required PPE
Physical Requirements & Work Conditions:
Standing for most of the shift; frequent bending and lifting
Regularly lift up to 25 lbs., frequently up to 50 lbs., and occasionally up to 100 lbs. with
assistance
Work in wet conditions
Must wear required PPE including eye, hand, hearing, and foot protection
Qualifications:
Self-starter with ability to work independently
Strong attention to detail
Ability to follow safety and environmental procedures
