Utopia Magazine has included “Plume” in a gorgeous double page spread in their November issue! In it, they ask readers, “What’s the focal point (of your bathroom)?” They then go on to suggest commanding attention in a bathroom by including an eye-catching center piece. And what could be more eye-catching than Plume, a series of three custom feather mosaic panels made in 18 colors of glass and eight colors of grout?
According to Utopia, “a focal point is an interior design linchpin and the bathroom, even if it is often one of the smallest rooms in the home, is no exception to this rule. Indeed, as bathrooms increasingly become personal, spa-like retreats in which to switch off from the outside world, it’s more imperative they have one than ever before.”
The three 4 ft. x 7 ft. feather panels took one month to create. The feathers include hand-cut pieces of jewel glass in Jasper, Lavastone, Schist, Tourmaline, Tortoiseshell, Tiger’s Eye, Amber, Agate, Quartz, Labradorite, Pearl, Opal, Moonstone, Alabaster, Sardonyx, Ruby, Garnet, and Carnelian. The background is Obsidian with a matte Sea Glass finish.
