At New Ravenna, we are always excited to be featured in a publication, but when we make the cover…it’s party time! In their March 2019 issue about traditional, transitional and modern kitchens – all gorgeous – our “Omar” mosaic can be found on the cover.
One of our Canadian showrooms, Calgary’s Empire Kitchen and Bath, teamed up with interior designer, Sarah Peters of Amanda Hamilton Design (AHID), for the shining star of this kitchen – the backsplash! Celebrated for their tenacious and vibrant persona, designers at AHID use a bold and unconventional approach to design and business that has made them one of the most sought after interior designer companies in Western Canada. With over a decade of experience, Amanda and her team have earned a diverse and extensive portfolio including custom residential homes, multi-family developments, restaurant, office and retail design, and we are so honored that Sarah used one of our mosaics in this stunning project!
Sarah Peters had her work cut out for her when she took on the renovation of this kitchen: the homeowners had very different aesthetic preferences, but Peters found a heavenly common ground in this light and bright kitchen. The stunning mosaic wall is beautifully unified with the high-gloss cabinetry and the baker’s island. The gray veining in the marble quartz counter of the island matches the cabinets, and “Omar,” a hand-cut and waterjet stone mosaic in polished Calacatta Tia and hand-chopped tumbled Cavern, pulls together both the grays and the white seen throughout. Omar is part of the Legend Collection by Paul Schatz for New Ravenna and, along with all other New Ravenna products, is available at our showrooms throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Russia, and Dubai.
