The newest collection from Joni Vanderslice, principal of J. Banks Design, is her first step into the tile world. The collection boasts 15 different mosaics and combines rich colors and graphic patterns reminiscent of African tribal designs and captures the essence of refined Southern coastal style.
Vanderslice drew design inspiration from her sea side surroundings in Hilton Head, S.C. With three themes in mind — waves, trellises and palms — Vanderslice and New Ravenna worked together to turn introspective concepts into tangible mosaics through various applications of color, texture and shape. Vanderslice plays with color and scale, incorporating soft, neutral hues in Kubuni Grand, a classic geometric floor field available in a subtle white on white for a textural take and also in earthy brown tones for a more rugged and natural feel.
